About Ramnik Singh Kohli (PhD)
Ramnik Singh Kohli is a PhD in Economics from State University of Management, Moscow, Russia through Russian government scholarship. He is business professional with more than 26 years of experience in mid and senior management positions in various products & services industries such as; Telecom, Banking, FMCG and Construction sectors.
Ramnik has been associated with Indo-Russian businesses for 21 years and is well acquainted with the language, traditions, customs and business ethics of India & Russia. He has worked with Top Russian corporates like MTS (AFK Sistema), VTB Bank, Technonicol India (CEO India operations), Sber Bank (Advisor to CEO - he spearheaded the banks efforts to apply for banking licence with the RBI to start operations in Mumbai). Ramnik also launched Micromax (Country Head – Russia & CIS), a well-known Indian Mobile Brand in Russia from scratch and took it to 5% market share within 2 years of launch achieving a turnover of 95 million USD. Has done business with Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, has good business contacts in Kirghizstan, Armenia and Uzbekistan. He has travelled extensively throughout Russia & Uzbekistan.
In 2019, Ramnik was appointed as the Honorary Representative of the Business Council for Cooperation with India, by the Moscow State government, department for External Economic and International relations.
He was a guest speaker at the prestigious St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2016 and 2023 and a panellist in the St. Petersburg Legal Forum in 2023. He has been featured in Russian Forbes, RT and other press for his business acumen and expertise in the domain of Indo-Russian trade relations.
